The Filmmaker
• Andrzej Wajda (born in 1926) is an illustrious film director,
stage manager and a famous screenwriter.
• He is also a laureate of many awards:
– His film „Man of Iron” won the Palme d'Or and the Prize of the
Ecumenical Jury at the 1981 Cannes Film Festival.
• In 2000 he received an Oscar for his whole film work, which
was handed to him by Jane Fonda.

The Artist

Wajda is a great artist
here and there”
such a motto was written on the board at University of
Gdansk, in March 2005 , when he received the title of
Doctor Honoris Causa.
Andrzej Wajda has joined the immortal
circle of the Polish and worldwide culture.
