Decide how many competitors you can have for your
competition and coordinate with coaches
Check room out today to make sure the room is OK.
Fill out the Competition Overview sheet today that gives
us info about room set up
Write the scopes for your competition in consultation
with your subject group and the Ontario Skills scope and
then email to Barb Finan by February 6th
Set up the competition night before with help from
others.
Coordinate competition the day of and hand in results
Get judges for competition
Competition Scopes
In line as much as you can with the Ontario
Skills Competition scope. Keep in mind that
competition must be finished by 3pm at
latest!!
 5 minute interview should be included
 Clearly display competition scope and
project on the wall outside competition
location for the spectators.

Registration & Numbers


Coordinators will determine number max. Keep
this in mind as you look at the resources you
have.
Coordinators MUST contact the coaches with
specifics!!!!! ie need # of competitors so can order accurate
materials


Registration deadline is Friday March 13th
Coaches meeting will be Thursday March 5th

Registration will close March 13th and NO hand
written forms will be accepted!
Sit down with student to register and you will
receive 2 emails. Please print off both the
summary of student information and the 2 signed
waiver forms and send Secondary to Elin or
Bernadette for Elementary.
Only COMPLETE registration forms will be
accepted. Incomplete forms will be sent back.
Check for signatures on BOTH forms!
Materials List


Budget – needs to be approved by Dave Lewis –
try to get donations of materials for the
competition but let Dan Bujold know who you are
contacting first PLEASE.
Please fill out the Budget Projection Form given
out tonight and hand it back in to Barb so we can
start organizing. I will scan it and email it once we
have looked at it. (Due February 6th)

Purchasing and Invoicing

Supplies under $2000 that was previously
approved by Dave can be ordered by
schools and have invoice sent to Elin at
NSEC along with the Budget request form.

Check out location for electrical requirements,
plumbing etc. to make sure it is OK.
If you wish to change your location, come back to
library and let Mike know PLEASE.
Permission Slips



$20.00 fee per student to be paid by parent to
individual schools
Contact Elin or Bernadette if your school
requires an invoice.
Deadline for permission form is March 13th but
would like all forms in by Coaches Meeting,
March 5th along with ONE cheque per school
Student Teachers

We are looking into Brock & OISE student
teachers to be involved with our
competitions. They could be helping with
judging, organizing etc. Let us know how
you would like to use them.

Spectators viewing competitions during
lunch
Closing Ceremonies




Dave Lewis and Ron Ballentine are organizing the
closing ceremonies.
We are making a commitment to keeping the
closing ceremonies as short as possible. (1 hour)
Elementary winners and Secondary together
Final results will be announced at these
ceremonies
Appeals Committee
Dave Lewis and Cathy Jenkins are chairing the
