Pass the California High School Exit Exam PASS NETS 5 & 6 *Must complete all A-G classes with a “C” or better.

Why should I take A-G classes?

• These requirements plus taking the SAT or ACT will make you eligible to start at a 4 year university straight out of high school.

• If you plan to attend a 2 year college you will be better prepared for the course work, the placement exams, and you will qualify for more scholarships!!

Why should I go to College?

• A college education can provide you with many opportunities for a better life.

• In your working life, more and more jobs will require education beyond high school.

SAT & ACT EXAMS

If you plan on attending a UC/CSU , you must take the SAT or ACT

ACT

- A three and a half-hour college admissions examination that consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning.

SAT

- A three and a half-hour college admission test of critical reading, mathematical reasoning abilities, and writing skills. • Should take tests in Spring of your Junior year • Registration is online. Links can be found on the BCHS website or below: • ACT – www.actstudent.org

CAHSEE

• The exam has two sections: English & Math • Once students pass one section, they do not need to take that section again.

• Students must score 350 or higher to pass the section but the goal is to get a 380 which is a proficient score.

White Robe must be a Life member of CSF (California Scholarship Federation) 4 of 6 semesters. May also earn wearing a gold stole for 100% membership (6 of 6 semesters). Must qualify for one term during senior year. See Mr. Humpal in the band roomfor more information.

Gold Cord must maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout high school.

Red Cord need to complete 250 hours of community service. See Mrs. Tanzillo for ideas for sites or projects.
