In this presentation I will tell about
the Middle Ages. This is the time I
want to visit. I'll start with the
medieval town.
Town was usually surrounded by the
walls, which had to defend against
the attacks of enemies and provide
shelter and rural population in the
event of enemy invasion. The
population of the city carried the
guard and garrison duty. All residents
of the city - merchants and artisans
could own a gun.
Different crafts
were widespread in
these towns. If I had
a choice I would
like to become a
blacksmith.

Special attention should
be paid on instruments
of torture ,they were the
elements of culture.

Why were big holes made
in the walls of many
medieval churches ?
In the walls of the church of western
Europe were the holes through which
you could listen to what was happening
inside and saw the altar. It was done so
that the lepers and other sick and
excommunicated from the сhurch could
see the service and not lose the of
spiritual consolation.
When the courts accused could be not
only people but also animals?
In the Middle Ages were not
uncommon ecclesiastical courts
over the animals. Defendants could
be any of the large domestic
animals to locusts and beetles. Pets
were usually tried for witchcraft and
sentenced to death. The last such
sentence was a cow in 1740.
SECRETS OF MEDIEVAL STAIRS
Spiral staircases in the towers of
medieval castles were built so that
climbing it was clockwise. This was
done so that in case of a siege tower
castle defenders had the advantage
during the melee, as the most powerful
right-hander could be applied only from
right to left, which was not available
attackers.
