Our Mission
Championing Young People’s Learning
Our Role
The YPLA will champion young people by
providing financial support to young learners, by
funding Academies for all their provision and by
supporting local authorities’ commissioning of
suitable education and training opportunities for
all 16-19 year olds.
Our Vision
 We make a difference to all young people’s lives by raising their
aspirations and helping them get the knowledge and skills they
need to prosper in the economy.
 We narrow the gaps in outcomes for different groups and
recognise, value and celebrate the diversity that young people
bring to society.
 We work with partners to secure seamless learning pathways
from pre-16 through to post-19 and in particular we improve
progression for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities
up to age 25.
Our Vision
 We work in partnership to build the performance and reputation of
schools, colleges and all learning providers.
 We provide a high quality funding and strategic analysis service
to our partners.
 We are well-led and managed, our own people thrive in an
empowering organisation and we demonstrate continuous
improvement.
Our Values we will be:
Professional - offering expertise to influence the thinking of our
partners through timely intelligence about young people, transparent
funding systems and empowering knowledge about what is working around
the country
Responsive - listening to young people and to our partners so that we
can support them effectively
Impartial - focused on what is right for all young people and celebrating
the contribution of providers of all kinds to providing a good choice of high
quality learning opportunities and learning environments
Our Values we will be:
Dynamic - passionate and committed to making the system work in the
best interests of young people by forging excellent relationships and
continually challenging ourselves to improve
Efficient - a slimline organisation aiming to simplify and streamline
funding and commissioning so that we get as much resource as possible to
the front line
