What is College Credit Plus?

College Credit Plus Replaces Post Secondary Enrollment Options Replaces dual enrollment Adds grades 7 & 8

Opportunity to Earn College Credit Grades 7 – 12 College-ready students Many college course options Public colleges are free Private colleges may include small cost

College-readiness determined by college.

Apply and Get Admitted

Participate by: 1. Signing the letter of intent (non-binding) by April 1 st 2. Apply and be admitted to an individual college by their application deadline.

(admission may require a placement test and/or other criteria)

Student Choice

Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification at a public (or participating private) college but still must meet graduation requirements.

Graduate with College Credit Earn up to 30 college credit hours per academic year; summer not included.

No more than 120 college credit hours while in the program.

A semester college course of 3 or more credits counts as a one-year high school class.

Under what scenarios can a qualified student use College Credit Plus?

1…You want to take college courses to satisfy your high school graduation requirements. 2…You completed your high school graduation required classes and you want to begin college work. 3…You want to explore college and take a course in a subject that interests you.

Books and Fees

Students attending a public college do not pay for either books or fees.

Students attending a private college may have a cost that includes books and fees.

Student Covers Parking Expenses

If you fail the class or drop it too late, you may have to pay for it .

Grades are Applied to Graduation Requirements

The grade you earn in the college course is applied to your high school graduation required class and becomes a part of your college transcript.

Deadline for Students: By April 1, you must tell us if you intend to participate next year.

CC+ Opportunities as a WHHHS Student • • • • Harrison High School currently offers the opportunity to earn 59 credits and never leave the campus…..this is through our AP, Speech, 4 th and 5 th year Foreign Language classes Students can enroll in Aviation Maintenance and Welding programs through Cincinnati State next door.

Students can enroll in online classes with Sinclair Community college and schedule a bell at WHHHS to complete it.

Students can enroll in and attend classes on college campuses….Cincinnati State, Miami-Hamilton, UC-Blue Ash

What Do I Need To Do To Participate?

1…Attend this informational meeting (Congrats…you are past the first step!) or schedule a meeting with your student’s counselor to obtain the information 2…Sign a Letter of Intent to Participate by April 1 st 3…Choose what option(s) you would like to pursue 4…Apply to the needed university(ies) by their deadline
