What is eSafety?
• Goal: To accelerate the development,
deployment and use of new
technologies for increasing road
safety in Europe
• Launched at the eSafety High-Level
Meeting on 25 April 2002
• A joint industry - public sector
initiative
• Complementary to other measures not intended to replace them

• Established after the HL Meeting
• Chaired by the Commission (co-chairs
ACEA and ERTICO), some 40 experts
