Consequences of Not Making
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
*
Title 1 Schools who have not made AYP for two
school years in a row, will be identified as needing
school improvement before the beginning of the next
school year.
*
Immediately after a school is found to not be making
AYP, school officials must develop a two year plan to
turnaround the school
*
Students must also be offered the option of transferring
to another school in the district.
