Our principles for success
 Listen and understand
 Understand what employers want to achieve, not just what they think
they want
 Provide flexibility, agility and creativity
 Focus on the learning journey, not just the technicalities of the job
role
 Develop solutions and assessments that are fit for purpose and
have real business impact
 Assess and track business impact and personal growth

Key challenges of supporting learning at higher
levels
 The ability to be more critical and challenging in terms of what and how
learners’ learn – HE levels require a higher level of critical analysis and thinking
 The need to develop learners to become more independent in their approach
to learning through programme design, delivery and assessment
 The need for more complex judgements and assessment of learning – not
just acquisition of learning, but also application and depth of understanding
 The ability to cope with the demands of higher level learners who are
themselves more demanding
 Time to enhance WBL expertise, skill, knowledge and techniques whilst
balancing current work and job demands
