Scheduling
 Put your name and ID number on the
sheet!
 This is the sheet you will turn in to
HOMEROOM by Friday February 28
with your signatures at the bottom of
the page!
English/Math/Science/Social
Studies/Foreign Language
 Your current teachers in these areas will be making a
recommendation to you.
 You should select whatever you want to take on your
schedule sheet.
 If your choice and the teacher’s choice don’t match, when
you meet with the school counselor, this will be discussed.
 If you choose to take a lower level from what the teacher
recommended, the change will be made.
 If you choose to take a higher level from what the teacher
recommended, your parent must talk to your current
teacher in the subject area and you must turn in a form with
the signatures that you will get from your counselor.
AP US HISTORY
 11th grade- if not in Soc/Psych/Econ, have your
10th grade American Studies teacher sign the
schedule sheet if they approve.
 10th grade- may take AP US HISTORY in 11th
grade with recommendation of US History
teacher since it will not be taught your Senior
year.
 9th grade- May take AP US HISTORY with
recommendation of current World History teacher.
Physical Education
 Only regular Physical Education meets
the requirement for graduation
 (NOT weightlifting, team sports, coaching
or officiating)
Physical Education
--If you are using the “PE Exemption” by
playing 2 seasons of a sport/band/cheer,
circle “P.E. Exemption” on your schedule
sheet. You do not have to take PE IF you
participate in 2 seasons of a
sport/band/cheer.
--Pick an extra elective to take the place of
PE.
Physical Education
 Grade 10-11- If by the end of this school
year you have not completed .5 credit of
PE OR have 2 signed exemption forms
(1 per activity) on file in the guidance
office, you will automatically be added to
PE.
 PE will stay on your schedule until you
AND parent sign the opt-out form AND
turn it into your school counselor.
Study Hall
 You may only have 1 study hall per
semester. You don’t have to have one.
 No credit for study hall
 Circle “Semester Study Hall” or “Year
Long Study Hall”
Eligibility
 1.5 GPA
 Passing 5 classes worth .5 credit or 1
credit. (Don’t include PE, weightlifting, or
support, or courses you are re-taking)
 Take an extra class to protect your
eligibility!!!!

 Must be ON TRACK TO GRADUATE on time

-Come after 1st
-Come after 2nd
-Leave after 5th
-Leave after 6th
-Stay all day
--Make sure you select the right number of classes to
match whatever option you pick!

 Pick 2-3 “back-up” classes in case we
can’t fill your first choice options that you
circled on the sheet.
 At the beginning of the school year,
schedule changes are only made for
specific reasons.
 CHOOSE your courses carefully!
Schedule Changes
 1) ___A senior needs to make a change to meet graduation
requirements.
 2) ___A teacher and student request a more appropriate level of a
subject for the student.
 3) ___A technical error was made in the schedule.
 4) ___The course has been completed in summer school.
 5) ___Prolonged illness where an excessive absence makes a
normal load too heavy.
 6) ___To balance classes. (Example: Two study halls 1st semester
and none 2nd)
 7) ___An IEP plan necessitates the change.
 8) ___Drop a study hall to add a class if space is available.
 9) ___ Student wants removed from class with a grade of WF
(Withdraw Fail)
