Battle Creek Community Foundation’s Youth Leadership Conference 2014 What is YAC? No, it’s not the long haired cow – it’s a bunch of friends from around the Battle Creek area who work to fund, promote, and create programs that help other youth through the Battle Creek Community Foundation! YAC at Youth Day of Caring 2011 Grantmaking Easy & Fun Service Hours All time served can be counted Friends The Youth Alliance Committee (aka YAC) was formed in 1989 by the Battle Creek Community Foundation (BCCF) to involve high school students - in the greater Battle Creek area - in improving the quality of life for area youth. YAC fulfills this goal through an active role in grantmaking, volunteerism, evaluating needs & interests of youth, and actively engaging in various community projects. YAC is 30 students strong in 2014-2015, proudly representing six public, private and home schools including: Battle Creek Academy, Battle Creek Central, Harper Creek, Lakeview, Pennfield, & St. Phillip Catholic Central. Through a competitive process, YAC seeks a diverse group of high school-aged students looking to experience new things, meet new people, and have fun.
