adoption as sons. 6And because you are sons,
God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into
your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
7Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son,
and if a son, then an heir of God through
Christ.
Hebrews 1:1-4
•
1God,
who at various times and in various ways
spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,
whom He has appointed heir of all things, through
whom also He made the worlds; 3who being the
brightness of His glory and the express image of
His person, and upholding all things by the word of
His power, when He had by Himself purged our
sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on
high, 4having become so much better than the
angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more
excellent name than they.
Hebrews 1:5
•
For to which of the angels did He ever
say:
5
“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”?
And again:
“I will be to Him a Father,
And He shall be to Me a Son”?
Hebrews 12:7-10
•
7If
you endure chastening, God deals with you
as with sons; for what son is there whom a
father does not chasten? 8But if you are
without chastening, of which all have become
partakers, then you are illegitimate and not
sons. 9Furthermore, we have had human
fathers who corrected us, and we paid them
respect. Shall we not much more readily be in
subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
10For they indeed for a few days chastened us
as seemed best to them, but He for our profit,
that we may be partakers of His holiness.
II Peter 1:17
•
For He received from God the Father
honor and glory when such a voice came
to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This
is My beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased.”
17
I John 1:1-3
•
That which was from the beginning, which
we have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we have looked upon, and our
hands have handled, concerning the Word of
life— 2the life was manifested, and we have
seen, and bear witness, and declare to you
that eternal life which was with the Father
and was manifested to us— 3that which we
have seen and heard we declare to you, that
you also may have fellowship with us; and
truly our fellowship is with the Father and
with His Son Jesus Christ.
1
I John 2:22-23
•
Who is a liar but he who denies that
Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who
denies the Father and the Son.
23Whoever denies the Son does not have
the Father either; he who acknowledges
the Son has the Father also.
22
I John 2:24-25
•
Therefore let that abide in you which
you heard from the beginning. If what
you heard from the beginning abides in
you, you also will abide in the Son and
in the Father. 25And this is the promise
that He has promised us—eternal life.
24
II John 9
•
Whoever transgresses and does not
abide in the doctrine of Christ does not
have God. He who abides in the
doctrine of Christ has both the Father
and the Son.
