How We Connect In Communities
The Myths and Misconceptions:
Many communities still believe
in false information about organ
donation. We face many
challenges at a very basic level in
getting people to change their
minds and register.
Overcome the Challenges:
AATF works directly with leaders
and community based
organizations to provide
information and opportunities to
register their decision to become donors
•
Identifying existing opportunities to
reach community members
•
Customized outreach in specific areasi.e. outreach in faith based
organizations-pastors are important
•
Maximizing resources and natural
partnerships to inform people about
the urgent need for organ and tissue
don
•
Continued development of the AfricanAmerican Task Force-our volunteer base
that works in 8 different chapter areas
connecting resources and partners to
help empower communities
