Refworks Part 2 Using Write-N-Cite

Click on Tools and Select Write-N-Cite

Click on Other Versions

Scroll down and click on Write-N-Cite III for Word

Click on Save file

The file will be saved as wnc3inst.exe

Double click on the saved

wnc3inst.exe

and follow the instructions

Allow Working Offline

Office 2003:

The Icon will be visible in Word the toolbar

Office 2007/10

: Click on Add –Ins and then select Refworks Write N-Cite

Groupcode:

Login to Refworks

The content of your Folders will be displayed Make sure that your Word document is loaded

Ensure than the

Always on top

is marked If you intend working Offline

tick the Work Offline box

Place the marker where you want to cite a reference.

Click on “Cite” in Write-N-Cite.

A placeholder for the reference will appear

If a page no. must form part of the citation click on Edit Citation and add the Specific Page

After completion of your article click on “Bibliography”

Select an Output Style and click on

Create Bibliography

A new copy of your article opens up with the reference list added at the end of the article

To add more output styles to your Favourites, go to Refworks and click on Bibliography and select Output Style Manager

Scroll through the left hand column and …

Mark the desired journal or output style and click on the Green arrow to make it part of your Favorites
