Matt.6:22-23: “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if
your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of
light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be
full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness,
how great is the darkness!
Job 18:5-6: Yes, the light of the wicked shall be put
out, and the flame of his fire shall not shine. The light
shall be dark in his dwelling, and his lamp beside him
shall be put out.
Eph.2:3-4: among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of
the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of
wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy,
because of His great love with which He loved us,
Eph.1:18-20: having the eyes of your hearts enlightened,
that you may know what is the hope to which he has
called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance
in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of
his power toward us who believe, according to the
working of his great might that he worked in Christ when
he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right
hand in the heavenly places,
Someone said, "You
preach too much on the resurrection. Most every
message has got something about the
resurrection." Why, sure, it's the cardinal resting
place of the Gospel. No matter what He did, if He
did not rise again from the dead, then all of it was
in vain. It, to me, proves that He was God, proves
every claim He made: the resurrection. And it also
is the place of the resting of the soul. It's the
starting point. It's the crowning of our consolation.

1Cor.15:12-18: Now if Christ is preached that He has
been raised from the dead, how do some among you
say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if
there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not
risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is
empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are
found false witnesses of God, because we have
testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did
not raise up--if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the
dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ
is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your
sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ
have perished.
1Pet.1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has
caused us to be born again to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an
inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and
unfading, kept in heaven for you,
Luke 24:1-3: Now upon the first day of the week, very
early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre,
bringing the spices which they had prepared, and
certain others with them. And they found the stone
rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in,
and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
2Tim2:16–18: But shun profane and idle babblings,
for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their
message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and
Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning
the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past;
and they overthrow the faith of some.
Phil.3:10-11: that I may know Him and the power of
His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may
attain to the resurrection from the dead.
WMB: The literal reading is, "If by any means I might
attain to the 'out-resurrection' from among the
dead." This is not the attaining to the general or
second resurrection, but attaining to the first
resurrection, of which is said, "Blessed and Holy is he
who hath part in the first resurrection, on such the
second death hath no power,….
