Transcript Put on the Armor of God


10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your
stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not
against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the
day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm
then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with
the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your
feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of
peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,
with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the
evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:12
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the spiritual
forces of evil in the heavenly realms
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as
the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the
weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have
divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish
arguments and every pretension that sets itself up
against the knowledge of God, and we take captive
every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

I must be perfect for God to love me
I must earn God’s love
Because I am a Christian God will protect me from
pain and suffering
All of my problems are caused by my sins
Sin no longer controls us
Satan no longer has an advantage over us
Romans 2:8-9
8But for those who are self-seeking and who reject
the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath
and anger. 9There will be trouble and distress
for every human being who does evil: first for
the Jew, then for the Gentile;

To be righteous is to do what is right in God’s eyes.
 Galatians 3:6-7
6Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was
credited to him as righteousness." 7Understand,
then, that those who believe are children of
Abraham.
 1 Peter 4:1-2
1Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm
yourselves also with the same attitude, because he
who has suffered in his body is done with sin. 2As
a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life
for evil human desires, but rather for the will of
God.

Proverbs 11:4-8
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death.
5 The righteousness of the blameless makes a straight way
for them,
but the wicked are brought down by their own
wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright delivers them,
but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.
7 When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes;
all he expected from his power comes to nothing.
8 The righteous man is rescued from trouble,
and it comes on the wicked instead.

Philippians 3:9
That I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not
having a righteousness of my own that comes from
the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—
the righteousness that comes from God and is by
faith.
 Isaiah 64:6
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Romans 3:21-22
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from
law, has been made known, to which the Law
and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness
from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ
to all who believe.

 Romans 10:14-15
14How, then, can they
call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not
heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching
to them? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who
bring good news!“
 Isaiah 52:7
7 How beautiful
on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
"Your God reigns!"
 Romans
1Therefore,
5:1
since we have been justified through faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ
 We are no longer at war with God
 God’s promise is that we will inherit eternal life
 He does not promise that we will have peace in
this life
 John 16:33
33"I have told you these things, so that in me you may
have peace. In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Notice our feet are not fitted with the Gospel
 Feet are fitted with readiness
 1 Peter 3:15
15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for
the hope that you have. But do this with
gentleness and respect,

Hebrews 11:1,6
1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and
certain of what we do not see. 6And without faith it
is impossible to please God, because anyone who
comes to him must believe that he exists and that
he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
 Romans 8:24-25
24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is
seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he
already has? 25But if we hope for what we do not
yet have, we wait for it patiently.


Ephesians 2:8
 8For
it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of
God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 10:17
 17Consequently,
faith comes from hearing the
message, and the message is heard through the word
of Christ.

Daniel 3:17-18
If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is
able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O
king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that
we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have
set up.“


Faith does not mean that we will never be harmed or have
struggles
 24Five
times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one.
times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three
times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,
26I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from
rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own
countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in
danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false
brothers. 27I have labored and toiled and have often gone without
sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone
without food; I have been cold and naked

 Matthew 14:28-31
28"Lord, if it's you," Peter
replied, "tell me to come to you on the
water."
29"Come," he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and
came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was
afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.
"You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

1 Thessalonians 5:8-11
 8But
since we belong to the day, let us be selfcontrolled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate,
and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9For God did
not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive
salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10He died
for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we
may live together with him. 11Therefore encourage
one another and build each other up, just as in fact
you are doing

Renewing of the mind


Romans 12:2
2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve
what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect
will.
Hebrews 10:16

after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,

God’s word
2 Timothy 3:16-17
 16All
Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Hebrews 4:12
 12For
the word of God is living and active. Sharper
than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to
dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges
the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
