Internet Monitoring
Advances in technology these days is forever changing and improving. With
this in mind at ART security we have embraced this technology in introducing
the latest in secure monitoring INTERNET MULTIPATH Monitoring – an
effective equivalent to Securitel.

Internet monitoring is the latest technological advancement in secure
monitoring with the line being tested regularly and polled every 60
seconds. It is envisaged that this form of monitoring will be the way of
the future with reporting redundancy on more than one format. Unlike
Securitel once communication has been lost this system has the
contingency of communication backup with GPRS and PSTN ensuring
that your system continues to communicate with the Monitoring Centre.
How it works
Internet monitoring is a triple path form of communication. The system will
communicate over the main path - internet (Ethernet) backed up by the secondary
path – GPRS (wireless). If these paths communications are lost the system will
then report on PSTN (standard telephone line). When either of these lines are lost
the Monitoring Centre will be alerted

As shown above the Internet system has multipath reporting as distinct from securitel
which being a single path polled service loses communication when the line is lost and
the alarm system no longer reports. This ensures that the security system retains its
reporting integrity.
System Requirements
Simple requirements for the system to be connected are that the internet be
available with a spare port on the router for the interface to connect into. If
you are upgrading an Internet interface unit is required at virtually the same
cost as a securitel Stu.
Pricing
Internet pricing is less expensive than Securitel and in our estimations will
provide a more efficient service and maintain the communication to the
Monitoring centre.
