Area close the net that the ball may enter (with
the exception of the serve) but players may
not enter.
Players feet must remain behind the non-volley
zone line if he/she is volleying( hitting the ball
out of the air) the ball. You may not enter the
zone after the hit
Rules of Play

Serving:
Must serve underhand cross court and must clear the
non-volley zone.
 Alternate right to left as you score
 Double-bounce rule: pertains to serve only (ball
must bounce once on each side after the serve)
 One server to start game then 2 servers the rest of
the game
 Ball must be served behind the non-volley zone

Rules of Play Cont’

Scoring:
Play to 11 win by 2
 Only score when your team is serving
 One hit to return the ball ( partner may not help ball
over)
 Ball may be played off bounce or out of the air after
the double bounce rule has been completed.


Stepping into the non-volley zone and volleying
the ball
Volleying the ball before the completion of the
double bounce rule
Hitting the ball more than once
Hitting the ball after more than one bounce
Ball landing in non-volley zone off the serve
