at Work
Secondary school and university students:
- Theoretical knowledge of woodworking
- Obtaining practical skills
WATCH OUT!
We are working, that is operating!
We are threatened by danger of bodily injury!
Safety and Health Protection
at Work
I am employed and I work:
•
•
•
•
in woodworking operation
at the workplace
within working hours
I perform activities during
which I have to pay an
increased attention
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• § 6, part. 3 of Safety and Health Protection at Work Law 124/2006
Coll.
An employer is obliged free of charge
• to provide employees with working clothing and working boots, if they
work in an environment in which clothing or boots are subject to
extreme wearing out or extreme dirting according to the special
regulation – the Slovak Government directive 387/2006 Coll.
BEWARE! In woodworking industry there is an environment in which
clothing and boots are subject to extreme wearing out or dirting
PPE – Personal Protective Equipment
Personal protective equipment
is every equipment which an employee at work:
•
•
•
•
•
wears
holds or
uses in some other way
including its accessories and attachments,
if it is intended to protect employee's safety and health.
Requirements for PPE
PPE has to
• ensure effective protection against existing and also foreseeable
danger,
• to correspond to existing and foreseeable working conditions and
working environment at the workplace,
• to meet ergonomic requirements,
• to comply with employee's health condition,
• to be suitable for use.
PPE must not increase risk and danger at workplace
