In the United States, in 1971, the 3 rd Monday in February was set aside to honor two of our heroes. These heroes both had birthdays in February and both, at different times, had a very special job – president of the United States. Do you know who they are?

Presidents Day This special day in February is called Presidents Day. Presidents Day can also be written as President’s Day or Presidents’ Day.

As time went by, people in the United States decided it was rather silly to honor only two of our presidents on Presidents Day, when all of our presidents are heroes, and all have accomplished great things.

Today, Presidents Day is a federal holiday that honors all our presidents, as it should. Counting our current president, Obama Barack, there have been 44 presidents of the United States.
