Contents.txt,
Conditions.txt,
Data files

Data in Digimap – 2 types
Raster data format
• Digimap raster data are supplied as TIFF files.
• TFW files also supplied.
• Most GIS or CAD software will accept TIFF image files,
with no need for conversion.
• Remember to keep the supplied TIFF files and the TFW
files in the same folder! Otherwise your GIS software
cannot locate the TIFF geographically.
Vector data formats
GML
format
TIFF,
SHP, NTF,
MIF/MID,
DXF, CSV
format
SHP, NTF,

•Note that not every product is available in every format
•Some data formats may be incompatible with software e.g.
NTF, GML, DXF

Shape files (SHP)
• Shape files do not require any conversion prior to
use in ArcGIS.
• Remember to keep all files together - SHP, PRJ,
DBF, SHX:
NTF data
• Convert to ESRI Personal Geodatabase (.MDB
suffix), using Map Manager or Productivity Suite
Productivity Suite, Map Manager
• Available through Eduserv CHEST:
– ESRI Productivity Suite (ArcGIS V9.2 or later)
– Map Manager (ArcGIS V9.1 or earlier)
GML (MasterMap) data
Options:
• Convert to ESRI
Personal
Geodatabase format
(.MDB suffix), using
Map Manager or
Productivity Suite
• Convert to Shape file
format, using
InterpOse
Note: Not necessary to unzip the GZip file for either of these
conversion options!
InterpOse
• InterpOse Digimap edition - free download for
GML data:
