The media industry is a major industry in the world
today. There are many text types associated with
the media (e.g. advertisement). Advertisements
are everywhere in newspapers, on public transport,
on the television, etc. Jargon is commonly found in
advertisements. Therefore, it is important that you
learn to infer the meaning of unfamiliar jargon.
