Highlights - Coimbatore
The participants were enthusiastic and keen to learn.
The following were the highlights of the programme:
General Highlights
1. The disciplined learning culture of the group.
2. They were very excited about their IT enablement .
3. The engagement with learning- Most of the group would
come earlier than the reporting time in the morning in order
to practice what they had learnt the previous day, and often
stay back afterwards to work on their projects etc
Highlights - Coimbatore
• Participants found some IT sessions very interesting. E.g. Microsoft
Excel, Advance features of PowerPoint, LCDS and PhotoStory.
• Participants found activities like creating Mind Maps and
Paraphrasing very interesting and took part in these very
enthusiastically.
• Just after 2 days of training, participants start coming much before
9:00 AM and were seen busy practicing on different software
packages.
• One day in schedule was dedicated to Windows Accessibility
Features for Specially Enabled People . This was very much
appreciated by all.
• Collaborative Magic-sheet Task was very much enjoyed by everyone

• The training commenced on the 9th of June 2011 and concluded on
18th June 2011
• There were 24 participants in all from different faculties of the
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya with the largest representation
being from the Faculty of Disability Management and the Faculty
of Physical Education.
• The training was successful in addressing all the defined
concepts/topics and objectives.

 E-Learning course for college professors
PN Palayam, June 9:
In Periyanaikenpalayam, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University has
collaborated with Microsoft Corporation India to conduct ten days E-learning course in
the topic of “Teacher Empowerment” program for Vidyalaya teaching staffs.
On Thursday, the training was started in Computer Lab of Vidyalaya Arts and Science
College. Swami Anuragananda, Asst. Secretary of Vivekananda University, inaugurated
this function.
Dr M Chandramani, Dean of Faculty of Disability Management & Special Education, gave
the welcome address. Ms Shivani Sahai, Program Manager-Education, Microsoft
Corporation India, introduced the session saying that “We have to give more importance
to E-learning in education department. In today’s life, without using the software
technology, the efficient working of any department is impossible. The same case is with
Education Department also.”
Ms Shaheen Shafi, Senior Project Director – Teacher Empowerment, Mr Sandeep Tomar
Senior Manager – Training, Mr Ramani, Head, Computer Science Department
participated in this function. Dr S Alagesan gave the vote of thanks. Professors from 15
institutions of Vidyalaya participated in this program.
