Plus:

Delta:
◦ Fully engaging in the process encourages meaningful professional
conversations about teaching and learning
◦ We have steadily improved our processes for collection and
assessment
◦ Our inter-rater reliability has been consistent
◦ We have concrete ideas for revision of rubrics
◦ Too many to focus on per semester?
◦ The bulk of the assessing was done by the committee – can we
involve more?
◦ ANGEL is an untapped resource for gathering data
◦ Some artifacts don’t match the CSLO they were chosen for. The
master list of classes needs to be revised
◦ Courses are not identified for all sections
◦ Some rubrics need revising
◦ CSLO characteristics are not yet widely used or referred to
◦ Not enough data to make too many generalizations
Findings

Continue to refine CSLO assessment
process
◦ Stagger assessment of CSLOs
Involvement of more faculty in the
assessment of artifacts
 Continue mapping CSLOs directly to
course objectives, outcomes,
assignments, and rubrics
 Investigate possibilities for using ANGEL
 Begin revision of rubrics


individual schools and programs with committee
representatives
◦ Present results at convocation, on webpage, etc…

Some programs are looking at assessment
across specific courses using common
assessments, rubrics, or embedded
assessment
Assessment of CSLOs as well as School and
Program assessment may inform course and
classroom assessment
Future Plans:
◦
◦
◦
◦
◦
Revisit CATs
CTX conversations
Support for new faculty
Support for adjunct faculty
Encourage mapping of CSLOs, course objectives
and outcomes
