What is the CTPP Program

The CTPP is an umbrella program of data products, custom tabulations, training, technical assistance, and research for the transportation community.

CTPP uses data from U.S. Census Bureau, including American Community Survey (ACS).

CTPP is an AASHTO sponsored data program funded by member state transportation agencies CTPP operates with support from FHWA, RITA, FTA, Census Bureau, MPOs and TRB The CTPP program includes:

CTPP Data Sources

CTPP uses data from the US Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS).

The ACS replaced the decennial census “long form” and requires accumulation of data over multiple years for small area tabulation

1 Year of data for places with 60,000+ people

3 Years of data for places with 20,000 + people

5 Years of data for smaller geographic areas, e.g. TAZs

State, Local and County Profiles for 2005-2007 are completed and posted at the AASHTO website

3-Year CTPP should be delivered to FHWA and AASHTO in late June, with web-based delivery no later than September 2010 Data access software: Alpha version delivered May 2010. Beta version coming in July.

Training: webinars, on-site training and E-learning modules (contract signed) Plans for a TRB Census Conference in fall 2011 are underway
