Tribute to
J.C. and
Velda
Oglesby
In the day of their lives, they
received blessings of richness and the
darkness of tragedy.
They lived their lives the best they
knew how.
They gave to the meek and the poor,
and in return, received in the holiness
of the Lord.
I shall never forget the happiness
in which my parents always
portrayed.
Even through the tough times and
sad times, they showed a strength in
which few have shown.
In life and in death, they have left a
legacy that will never fall. They
loved each other for more than 60
years. That love they shared with
all those around them.
We shall miss them greatly, and yet
have them with us for always.

With more than 2000 pictures to sort through I tried
to bring out the best pictures I could find over the
next several slides.
Sit back and enjoy the sites of J.C. and Velda Oglesby
and the memories we all will continue to share.
Throughout the years, Treva, Gene and Jim continued
to grow and be nourished by J.C and Velda. They
went on many vacations, traveling around the
western part of the United States. J.C. and Velda
even went to Alaska (twice) and to Mexico.
The following pictures are of J.C and Velda here at
home, where they lived, loved and left everlasting
memories.

The last 3 years of daddy’s life, he spent in a
nursing home battling Alzheimer's and
Diabetes. It was very difficult for me to go
to the nursing home and see him fade away.
Although I was not there when he passed, I
will always love him and think of him.
Though all the rough times I gave him, he
was my strength in growing up. Daddy
passed away on November 30th, 1999.
The following
Slide is
the Poem
I wrote
for my mother,
on February 14,
2004, 4 days before her passing.
I feel it is very fitting
for both my parents,
whom I love greatly.
Have I told you,
You are my Hero,
Have I told you,
You are my guiding light,
Have I told you,
You are my sunshine,
The angel of my life,
Have I told you,
You are my strength,
Which helps me through my life,
Have I told you,
You are the shining star,
Which guides my path at night,
I say to you at this special time,
You are all of these and much more,
I love you, I cherish you, I adore you,
Sleep now with peace, evermore.
Your Loving Son,
Jim
We will always,
think of them, love
them and miss
them!!
Mother and Daddy,
we LOVE YOU!!!!
