Emphasis on Literacy, Numeracy & Communication Skills

 What is happening in your school to ensure/promote literacy, numeracy and communications skills across the curriculum?

RAISEonline

Changes to RAISEonline mainly result from the 2010 schools White Paper: The Importance of Teaching. The major change is the removal of contextual value added (CVA) measures.

      Other changes relate to: value added (VA) indicators expected progress reports Narrowing the gap reporting school context review target setting SEN/low attainers.

Unpicking L6

 Two half days focusing on number & algebra and data handling  Emphasis on levelness rather than passing an assessment – what makes a level 6?  Encouraged schools to liaise with pupils’ Year 7 destination school  Over 70 delegates attended so far

National Curriculum Update

 Introduction of National Curriculum delayed until first teaching September 2014 (possibly staggered implementation)  National Curriculum review need to align with ‘radical’ GCSE reforms
