How Is Middle School
Different?
Half of the day you are in CORE taking
language arts, math, social studies, media and
library (media and library are NOT every day)
The other half of the day you rotate through
different classes on different days
These include: science and technology, French,
drama and dance, visual arts, family studies and
physical education

times in a 6 day cycle
• At the end of the year all
the grade 6s go to Le
Papillon; a fancy French
restaurant downtown

Stay involved…don’t hesitate to call your child’s teacher
or counsellor
Talk…talk…talk…to your child!!!
We do give homework…and we do offer after school
support

Be careful of electronic devices
Proper time management at home is very
important…electronic addiction is on the rise.
Electronic Devices should remain in the locker, turned off
unless permission from the teacher is given to use for
assignments – this includes lunch time
Get informed (cyber safety)
Youtube, MSN, Facebook, Texting, Instagram
Gaming
