How Is Middle School
Different?
Half of the day you are in CORE taking
language arts, math, social studies, media and
library (media and library are NOT every day)
The other half of the day you rotate through
different classes on different days
These include: science and technology, French,
drama and dance, visual arts, family studies and
physical education

times in a 6 day cycle
• At the end of the year all
the grade 6s go to Le
Papillon; a fancy French
restaurant downtown

Stay involved…don’t hesitate to call your child’s teacher
or counsellor
Talk…talk…talk…to your child!!!
We do give homework…and we do offer after school
support

Be careful of electronic devices
Proper time management at home is very
important…electronic addiction is on the rise.
Electronic Devices should remain in the locker, turned off
unless permission from the teacher is given to use for
assignments – this includes lunch time
Get informed (cyber safety)
Youtube, MSN, Facebook, Texting, Instagram
Gaming
