Project Goal / Problem Statement  At the hospital, Central Sterile Processing prepares instruments for the operating rooms to be used throughout the day.  Sometimes, additional or different instruments are needed, requiring nurses to call CSP, sometimes so much that the phone lines are completely tied up.

 Need a better form of communicating and logging requests.

The Sterilization Process

Use Case Scenario   Surgeon requires specific surgical equipment, Nurse receives these requests from the surgeon verbally or written.  Nurse enters the needed equipment via a workstation.

  CSP staff receives request from the nurse CSP delivers equipment to the OR
