Ana Cristina Klein and her father Enio have been in the industry for more than 40 years,
working both as shoe agents and as consultants for Abicalçados (www.abicalcados.com.br)
and Assintecal (www.assintecal.org.br).
Enio also represents Brazil at the Leather Panel at UNIDO (United Nations Industrial
Development Organization).
New Frontier Shoes exemplifies passion and knowledge, two key factors that
change ideas into reality and…
Sketches to prototypes
Prototypes to samples
Samples to orders
Orders to shipments
Shipments to dreams…
Dreams that come true when a consumer buys the coveted shoe!
Ana Cristina Klein dreamt of becoming a shoe agent in Brazil since she was a child. Her
father, Enio Klein, was a pioneer in the industry and immediately recognized his
daughter’s passion for shoes. She spent her childhood surrounded by American and
European importers, leather swatches, and samples, thriving under her father’s guidance
and expertise. Her upbringing provided her an accomplished education in the footwear
industry including the necessary skills and expertise needed to become successful in all her
future endeavors.
In 2002, Ana Cristina founded New Frontier Shoes. The company represents numerous
shoe manufacturers specializing in high end leather shoes and accessories. New Frontier’s
passion for the beauty and creativity of Brazilian footwear is coupled with a well
developed knowledge of fashion export. These key factors have enabled New Frontier to
be an industry leader establishing Brazilian footwear at the forefront of the global
marketplace.
In 2006, New Frontier Shoes created a consulting division to meet the needs of the Brazilian
footwear industry, New Frontier Shoes Intelligence. The consulting division offers clients
access to the passion and knowledge of Ana Cristina and her father, Enio. New Frontier
Shoes Intelligence is dedicated to creating new successful projects, organizing trade
missions to China, and establishing the Brazilian footwear industry as a leading global
competitor.
Most of the world still ignores Brazil as a potential source for quality,
fine, fashion shoes. Brazil is fast becoming a global leader for sourcing
and shoe manufacturing through factory upgrades, responsible
manufacturing initiatives and competetive pricing for quality footwear.
Brazilian footwear industry professionals have mastered the art of
producing high quality shoes that can rival in design and craftsmanship
those made in the the European fashion capitals.
Novo Hamburgo is a thriving city with a population of 250,000 . It is
well known as the Capital do Calçado, the Shoe Capital of Brazil. The
Brazilian footwear industry has over 8,400 manufacturers which
produce approximately 725 million pairs of shoes of which 189 million
are exported! To fulfill the demand, there’s more than 1,500 components
manufacturers and about 400 companies specialized in tanning and
finishing leather. (Source: www.assintecal.org.br)
