In Spanish, the future tense is a
simple tense: it consists of ONE
word.
I. Formation of the Future Tense.
For most verbs, the INFINITIVE
is the future stem. The future
tense endings are attached to
the infinitive
NOTE! The future endings are the
same for ALL verbs, regular and
irregular.


II. Usage of the future tense.
A. The main reason to use the future tense
is to tell what WILL or WILL NOT happen.
Yo hablaré con María mañana.
I will talk with María tomorrow.
Marco asistirá a la Universidad de California.
Marco will attend the University of California.
B. The future tense is used to express wonderment.
(In the present time)
(¡OJO! ~ Must be used in a question.)
¿Cuánto costará la camisa?
I wonder how much the shirt costs?
¿Qué hora será?
I wonder what time it is?

The future tense is used to express
probability. (In the present time)
Serán las dos.
It is probably 2:00.
