Telework
Telework occurs when information and
communications technologies (ICTs) are
applied to enable work to be done at a distance
from the place where the work results are
needed or where the work would
conventionally have been done.
BIT&T , Riga, April 3–5, 2002
The main result -
seamless co-operation
The greater the choice, the
greater the benefits


Over 100 years of unprecedented
technological development
Developments in ICT are a vital engine of
growth
E-working offers more informal ways of
using technology to deliver services
A greater choice in how, where and when
to work
A knowledge-based age
Technical
progress
Job & wealth
creation
Productivity
improvements
Economic
growth
A flexible and
complementary approach
Work is not one single place or
location
 Better balance between our work life
and our life outside work
 Mobile communications technologies
empower people to manage their
work and private life - without the
limits of time or space


New agenda for eWork
