 Consultant gave me info on cost – fluconazole cheaper
than clotrimazole
 Thought would be useful to see what the general
prescribing practice was as most people seemed
surprised at the cost difference above.
 Suggested it as an SSM project for one of our students.
Outcomes
 Changes West of Scotland protocol to using
fluconazole as first line treatment – equal efficacy and
less expensive.
