Classroom Expectations
Student Behaviors
• Be prompt
 Be ready to learn when class begins.
• Be prepared
 Have materials with you and know due dates.
• Be a polite and positive participant
 Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen
attentively.
• Be productive
 Turn in work on time, and always do your best.
• Be a problem solver
 Correct problems quickly and peacefully before
they escalate.
Show Respect
• Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and
practice strong moral values.
• Treat all members of the school community and
all visitors with politeness and respect.
• Honor the ideas and opinions of others.
• Offer to help.
• Be responsible with property and belongings.
Responsibility for Coursework
• Bring notebook(s), textbook, planner, and
appropriate writing tools to class, when
needed.
• Know due dates, and submit all coursework
on time. You will not be allowed to print any
drafts or final material during class period.
THINK AHEAD!
• If you incur problems printing at home you
may print your assignment during homeroom.
• All assignments are posted on the white
board.
Policies
• You will be allowed to have a water bottle in
the classroom (no food please—unless for a
special occasion).
• Upon entering class, please take your seat,
begin working on your do now.
• Major assignments that are late will be
penalized – 10 points for each day it is late.
Plagiarism (uncredited use of somebody else's
words or ideas) results in a zero.
• Absences
 Ask team members or a classmate first for
assignments.
 Check appropriate notebook and update
accordingly (WNB, RNB, VNB, & GNB).

• 30% Final writing piece/Grammar assessments.
• 30% Reading assessments/Vocabulary assessments.
• 20% Writing Workshop (this includes grading of writer’s
notebook, and any other workshop assignment chosen to
collect and grade with our without notice)!
• 20% Reading Workshop (this includes grading of reader’s
notebook, reading logs, and any other workshop
assignment chosen to collect and grade with our without
notice)!
