JSA Essentials
 List the Job to be analyzed
 Break the job down into primary steps
 For each job step, list the identified hazard (s)
 For each identified hazard, list mitigation method (s)
 JSA should be written at the work site
 Discussion should be facilitated, not dictated.
 Baseline JSA’s can be developed for routine jobs
 Baseline JSA’s should include room for variables
such as weather and simultaneous operations
 Long jobs should be discussed one phase at a time
