Our objectives from the pilot
Would the NLMS work within the ORH

To eliminate the need for manual transfer of
data into the ESR learning record

Appointment of an e-learning lead

Checking current e-learning was SCORM
compliant
User Testing
50 users from a variety of clinical and nonclinical departments
Tested both national and local content
User guides and evaluation forms given out
Positive feedback with some issues re
playing content
Problems with testing
Lack of time and commitment from users
Lack of understanding about the importance
of testing
Issuing usernames and passwords
System not working

Frustration with system logging them out
Not being able to move through course
Marking as incomplete when user feels that
they have finished.
Not always able to take assessments

“As a learning tool, I feel it is very
beneficial and should be easy to access as
long as the staff using it are relatively
computer literate and that they have
computer access.”

Review how testing is carried out

Decide what works best for you

Tracking into ESR is not satisfactory at
present
Some national courses are not working as
