The project began in April 2013 with Go-Live date of June 23, 2013
Scope – Johns Hopkins Hospital Non-Nursing departments and
resources
Created to provide
A centralized model
Risk/Exposure Mitigation
Electronic time keeping
Reporting
Set foundation for all Non-Nursing requests to go through Intrastaff

Policy
On June 10, 2013 communication was sent to JHH/JHHSC
leadership
Included the new “Non-Nursing Temporary Staffing Agency
Utilization Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation & The
Johns Hopkins Hospital Policies and Procedures”
New policy requires
For those temporary staff with assignments greater than one
week
– Approval from the Vacancy Review Committee
Staffing centrally from Intrastaff
All non-nursing agency employees to swipe/punch in order to
capture time

Intrastaff
Intrastaff was founded in 1987 and is owned by The Johns Hopkins
Health System Corporation
Intrastaff is the temporary staffing service for placement of clinical
and non-clinical personnel for the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions
Why Intrastaff?

Time Capture
Workforce Management (WFM) and Kronos are the two time
keeping systems generally used by departments at Johns Hopkins
Hospital
Allow for easy tracking and reporting of hours worked for all
personnel
Non-nursing Agency staff are required to swipe on the system used
by the assigned department
Allows management to review staff in a single system
Follows similar review and approval process
Provides an electronic record of time worked
Centralized support
