How to Register with the
HireAnIslander Database

HireAnIslander Database
In order to use the majority of the services offered by the TAMU-CC Career Services
department, registration with the HireAnIslander Job Database is required.
This guide is intended to show students how to access the database and how to start
looking for a job today!
The HireAnIslander Database Log-In Portal is located on the Career Services webpage, under
Jobs 4 Islanders on the LEFT HAND side of the screen.
As a student, be sure to click STUDENT LOGIN.
Clicking on the STUDENT LOGIN brings you to the portal for the
HireAnIslander database. As a new user, you’ll need to register so click on
the CLICK HERE TO REGISTER! link located at the bottom of the page.
Don’t know your STUDENT ID/BANNER ID?
If you are a new student, click on the FIND YOUR
BANNER/STUDENT ID link to set it up.

FIRST and LAST NAME
STUDENT ID#
(NOTE: This is not your SSN number)
A unique PASSWORD to be used for this
account.
Your CURRENT PHONE NUMBER
Your UNIVERSITY E-MAIL (ends with
islander.tamucc.edu)
Your approval of the
Confidentiality Statement.
“Add to Resume Books”
allows your information to be
submitted to interested
employers.
On the STUDENT REGISTRATION page, be sure to complete all fields designated with an
asterisk (*). In order for your profile to be activated, all required fields MUST be filled in.

This is where you check off various qualities that you can
bring to a job (such as Languages, Computer experience,
etc.)
All of the ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION is optional but
a complete profile has a better
chance of attracting a potential
employer.
After completing the first page of registration, you are brought to a
confirmation page. Ensure ALL of the required information is
completed and that all other information is accurate.
If there is an inaccuracy, hit EDIT to fix it.
After you have are finished, hit CONTINUE at the top of the page.
In order for your profile to be activated, you MUST upload a
resume.
If you need help writing a resume, feel free to come by Career
Services (UC 304) to pick up an example copy or make an
appointment with a counselor.
When you have a resume, click UPLOAD FILE to upload it to
the database.
To select your resume from your
computer, first hit the BROWSE
button to the right of the Upload
field.
Using the LOOK IN field at the
top of the box, locate the folder
that houses your RESUME.
When you find it, click it once
to highlight it and then hit
OPEN.
Be sure to NAME your Resume in the field marked
DOCUMENT NAME. It can be something as simple as
“[YOUR NAME]’s Resume”. When you’re finished, hit
UPLOAD.
After uploading your resume, you’ll be brought to the
FINAL SUBMIT page. Hit the SUBMIT PROFILE button
if you’re ready to submit your information to the
HireAnIslander database.
You’re Almost Done!
After hitting the final SUBMIT
button, you’re brought back to
the HireAnIslander Database main
page. Notice the highlighted
portion that reads
“ATTENTION”. This is
informing you that your profile
is currently under review.
After you are sure you’ve
uploaded all of the necessary
information (including the
resume), call Career Services
and ask to have your account
activated.
Career Services
In order to activate your profile, you
can visit our offices, located in the
University Center on the third floor, or
you can give us a call at (361) 8252628.
Profile activation is REQUIRED to be
able to search and apply for any jobs
listed on the database.
