Refrigeration Update
- The Refrigeration Industry Leader’s Organize the Global
Refrigerant Management Initiative (GRMI) during the United
Nation Secretary General’s Climate Summit in New York last
September 23, 2014. The Initiative Marks Milestone Towards
Reducing HFC Greenhouse Gas Emission.
- ASHRAE will Join this Initiative as Approved by the BOD.
The GRMI was Organized by the Alliance for Responsible
Atmospheric Policy, AHRA and ABRAVA (Brazilian
Association for HVAC – R)

Refrigeration Update
- The 2015 ASHRAE Winter Conference has no approved
Refrigeration Program for the Chicago Winter Conference.
- AASA also submitted its Refrigeration Seminar Program for
Chicago but it was also disapproved.
- Doug Reindl's and Dan Dettmers' workshop will be held at 8 \
a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25. The Title: "I Scream, You Scream,We
All Scream for Refrigeration Basics of Ice Cream,“ will explore
the process of making ice cream. The presenters will lead
attendees through the cooling load calculations and offer
them a chance to participate in the ice cream making process

Refrigeration Update

ASHRAE Guide for Sustainable Refrigerated
Facilities and Refrigeration Systems

Massey University as of September 3, 2014
had submitted the 50% draft for comments and
approval and the Guide would be completed
by November 30, 2015

Guide will be used for New and Existing
Facilities and will be Applicable in Countries
Outside U.S.

Promote and solicit applications for Milt Garland, Comfort

Submit recommendations to CTTC for PAOE criteria for Chapter
Refrigeration Activities

Strongly encourage RVCs to actively promote strong Chapter
participation in the recently approved "R in ASHRAE" Award
