What do I do if I think my child is
struggling academically?
• Discuss CSAP with the teacher to see if this is something
they are considering
• Speak to the teacher specifically about your concerns
• Consider other factors: is your child struggling with
attention/focus, homework complete, lack of
motivation, etc.
• Find out what you can do at home to already support
the current interventions that the teacher is using.
• Visit NASD website: http://nasd.schoolwires.net/Page/591
Is your child struggling with
academics?
Come to our first parent workshop to discuss
the CSAP process and learn interventions as
well as strategies to help your child at home!
Tuesday, October 21st at 11:15am.

The PA School Performance Profile
serves several purposes:
•

System
•
Provide parents with comparative measures for the school/district of residence,
neighboring schools/districts and schools/districts across the state
•
Inform the public of the academic performance measures of each school,
comprehensive career and technical center, cyber charter and charter school in
Pennsylvania
•
Offer a resource for LEAs to communicate and compare performance, analyze
performance indicators as related to achievement, and encourage best practice
–
–
–
–
Employ as an analysis tool to inform goal setting, planning, and allocating resources to improve
student achievement
Compare performance to local schools
Compare performance to schools with similar demographics
Communicate performance to various constituencies

•Percent of gap closure met in Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing
4.Indicators of Academic Growth / PVAAS (40%)
•The PVAAS Average Growth Index - A measure of student progress across the tested grade levels in a school in
Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing
5.Other Academic Indicators (10%)
•Attendance rate
***Extra Credit for Advanced Achievement (up to 7 points)= % Adv. On PSSA
