Welcome to Suankularb Wittayalai Nonthaburi School
Thailand and our group code is L7
• First of all, we would like to say “Sawasdee ” which means “Hello” to our lovely friends again.
We are still the same group of students who worked for the first Learning Circle. With the limit
of time, we could not do the publication in the form of website like the first one. However we
hope you enjoy this presentation.
• The content in this presentation can be divided into two parts. One is about our responses to
each group’s questions, the other is the answers that other groups responded to those questions.
Each week in class when we finished writing our answers, our teachers, Mrs.Patcharin
Somboonsook and Mr.Elmer Tumacder showed us the e-mails from other groups and we
discussed about them. We think Learning Circle is very useful. It provides us a good
opportunity to learn and share from each other. We can guarantee that you would learn
something like we did when you read the following collected information.
1. What is your opinion about love?
2.What does good friend mean to you?
3.Is it a taboo in your country to kiss
your close friend?
1.What is your opinion about "LOVE"?
Love is a beautiful thing. Someone who has love or is loved by others is
a very lucky person. Love always has two sides – beauty or sadness. It
can make you happy or cry. It depends on your idea , what do you think
about love. I think , love is always good to us. The real love isn't sadness
or disappointing things but it is about , kindness , sincerity , honesty ,
forgiving and understanding.
2.What does "Good Friend" mean to you?
Good friend means people who wish you all the best and will help you
Anytime you need. If you have problems ,they are willing to help and
do the best they can. I think the most important characteristic that a
good friend must have is sincerity.
3.Is it taboo in your country to kiss your close friend?
No, it isn't. But it is only really not suitable to kiss someone in the
public. Nowadays ,Thai society still doesn't accept people who show
their love by kisses their lovers in public. It is a tradition in my country
that women and girls must love themselves and not allow their
boyfriends to do unsuitable thing to them.
HELLO! We hope we answer your questions.
1. What is your opinion about love?
Answer: Our opinions about love: love is patient and kind.It is not jealous
or concieted or proud. Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irittable. Love
does not keep the record of wrong. Love is not happy of evil but is happy
with the truth. Love never give up, and its faith, hope and patience
never fail and, Love is eternal.
2.What does good friend mean to you?
Friend for us it means, it is like a phosporus, seen plainest when all
around is dark. Good friend means, he or she is honest to you. It is when
you can find happiness in your life.
3.Is it a taboo in your country to kiss your close friend?
It is taboo in our country to kiss our close friend, because we know more
about them and especially that's our close friend. Here in our country, we
call it "beso-beso".
Hello L1 These are our response to your questions
1.What is your opinion about "love"?
Love is a good thing. Almost teenagers think love is important for them. There
many kind of love. For example, love from parents is always immaculate love.
Since we were born our parents always love us all the time. Love from the
opposite sex is a beautiful love, if you understand the meaning. Love from
lover need to be mutual and lasting. Love isn't a wrong thing. If we know to
love.
2.What does "Good friend" mean to you?
We think friend indeed is a friend in need. Good friend won't neglect us when
we are critical, pacify when we are sad, don't gossip us, and can give advice.
Good friend don't need to be handsome or beautiful, but should be sincere to
us.
3.Is it taboo in your country to kiss your close friend?
NO, to kiss your friend isn't taboo in my country because my country has
gotten west cultural. But somebody don't agree about this action. So if they see
you do this action they will think you aren't nice people.

Thai World Heritage Places SukhothaiSukhothai was the capital of the
first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. It was built by the
Khmers and taken over by the Thais in 1230. The Thai language and
alphabet originated here, the last was invented in 1283 by the famous
King Ramkhamhaeng as a revision of various forms of Khmer alphabets
into a system suitable for the writing of Thai words. The site at Sukhothai
is a stylish park, where you can explore the ruins by cycling from one
monument to the other. The statues and temples are much better
preserved (though several centuries older!) than the ones at Ayuthaya.
Sukhothai is on more than 400 kilometers distance from Bangkok.
Ayutthaya Province is famous for magnificent temples and
old palaces. It was designated a World Heritage Site by the United
Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
on 13 December 1991. Since then, this ancient capital celebrates its
glorious past with displays of traditional culture and lifestyles each
year. Located 76 kilometers north of Bangkok, the ancient city of
Ayutthaya, or Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya in full, served as Thailand’s
capital from 1350 to 1767, a period of 417 years. During the period,
33 kings of five dynasties ruled the kingdom. The Ayutthaya
kingdom was a powerful city with strong religious and cultural
influences, which remain ingrained in Thai society. It grew into one
of Asia’s most renowned metropolises, inviting comparison with
great European cities, such as Paris. In olden days, Ayutthaya
emerged as one of the rich ports of Southeast Asia. It sold rice, dried
fish, and forest products to other countries in the region. The city
has retained its status as a rice bowl of Thailand up to the present
day. The Ayutthaya Historical Park, where the Ayutthaya World
Heritage Site Celebrations are held, was described by UNESCO as a
Repository of priceless art and a symbol of excellence in artistic
creativity. Visitors to this festival will appreciate and learn more
about the ancient capital of Thailand.

Palace has impressive buildings while Wat Phrakaeo is renowned as

“Is fitness important to you?"
1. Yes, fitness is very important to
protect our body from any illness
especially our heart. If our body is fit ,we
will be strong and healthy. We can
work all the time without any
disturbances coming from our body.
Answers----by Natnicha Pinsuay
"Is fitness important to you?“
I think , fitness is really important to
us.It makes us healthy , strong and have a
slender body not fat. If we are fat , we will
be risk to have heart decease
,hypertension and many other sickness. In
Thailand , we have a national campaign to
encourage people to exercise in order to
prevent themselves from sickness.
1. What religion do you practice in
your country?
2. Why you choose this religion?
3. Is religion important to you?
4. For you, what is religion?
1. Thai people are free to practice their religions which are Buddhism,
Christian, Islamic and etc. but more than 90 % of the population practice
Buddhism.
In our class, we are all Buddhist.
2. Buddhism is different from other religions because there is no God.
The Lord Buddha is human being. One important teaching is that we must
learn to make ourselves strong both mental and physical parts because we
have to depend on ourselves. We must not depend on gods or fate. The fate is
destined by our own action. One deserves what one does. So the main
teachings are : Do only good things, Do no evil things and Make your mind
(soul) clear (from bad things).
3. Yes, religion is very important because it is the great weapon to
stop evil on earth. All religions expect people in the world to live in peace. So
religions should be used for peace , not to cause conflict or war.
4. Religion is a kind of organization where all people are gathered to
be united in peace, love and harmony.
In you life you always meet people all
the time, so each country has different
ways of greeting. How are people in
your country do greeting?
This lovely girl has
shown you the way Thai
people do the greeting.
We call this action “wai”
Actually when we wai,
we always smile and say

ladies.
Hello friends,

Dear friend,
Your data gathing questions are interrested us. So, we have
some opinions about them.
1. yes, I do.
2. I think that they have believed in horoscope . But some
of them donot believe. Because those things prophesied

especially the minority in my country.
Thank you.
1.Is generation gap a problem in your
country? What to do to overcome it?
1. We think Thailand is a very open country so we are easily affected by the
westernization especially on the daily life style. Young people prefer pizza,
French fried, fried chicken or hamburgers with coke to rice and curry. They
listen to modern music like hip-hop or heavy rock which may annoy the
elderly people. They spend most of their time playing computer games or talk
on mobile phone . There is less talk in family. The way they dress is
considered not appropriate measured by the old Thai social values. These are
some examples of the differences which may lead to generation gap
problems and cause conflict in family.
2. To overcome these problems, we think both parents and kids have to find
time to spend together and discuss and share ideas on these aspects to find
solution or to understand each other. Parents need to have new strategy to
educate their kids because they cannot force the kids to listen to them as it
used to be in the past. Kids need the explanation with good reasons.
So far, the problems are not very serious. People are aware of it.
Hello hanh nguyen!
Are L1 or L8? Anyway, here is our answers in your questions about
generation gap.
1.Is generation gap a problem in your country?
Yes, because our ancestors like the old fashions/ traditional practices and
the new generations likes the new technology/ the latest practices. For
example, like us teenagers our grandparents always told us to wear a
long pants and, we don't like it because, we are not comfortable to wear
it.
2. What to do to overcome it?
The things to do to overcome this problem is to support the old fashions
of our ancestors because some of the old fashions are for our own
good. This problem cannot be done so easily because the old generation
sticks to the culture and practices, its hard for an older person to accept
the changes of the new generation such as modernization like
technology and other modren methods. So, we need to accept our
differences in beliefs and practices ; and we, the new generations try to
adjust and sometimes adopt those practices that may bring good to us.
Have a nice day!!!
