What’s new?
 A ‘relay’ system:
 3 consecutive teams of Dutch builders consisting of 5
apprentices and 1 teammanager each
 Each team stays for about 3 weeks; one week later the
new team arrives
 Each team is assisted by foreman Bob Ayitee-Adjin
and Ghanaian workers and youngsters – to be selected
by you
 Total durance of the project: 3 months (SeptemberNovember 2015)

Model
• 6 classes
• Column technique
Building in phases
 First phase (September 2015) – first team:
 Digging, foundation, concrete floor, making window
and frames
 Appr. 15 local workers needed and some Ghanaian
apprentices
 Second phase (October 2015) – second team:
 Bricklaying and roof, manufacturing of the doors
 Assisted by 2 local bricklayers, 2 local carpenters and
some apprentices

 Third phase (November 2015) – third team:
 Finishing, plastering, painting, electricity
 Assisted by Ghanaians: 2 bricklayers, 2 carpenters, 1
electricien, 1 painter, some apprentices
Project’s funding
 The Dutch finance:
 Travel expenses of the Dutch teams
 Construction costs and salary costs
 Requested Ghanaian contribution:
 Accommodation of the Dutch teams
 Feeding of the Dutch teams
What’s next
 If we agree at this main level, many details have to
be discussed and worked out during this week, such
as:
Inspection of the building site
Safety at the building site
Possible accommodations (Ba – Meyaa’s lodge?)
Availibility and state of the machineries and tools of
the school
 Orientation on possible suppliers of wood, sand,
gravel, etc.
 A car for the team





 Monday – Wednesday; Ajumako-Afranse
 Meetings with district chief executive and Nana Kwa Numa

 Visit to the vocational school and meeting school
management and teachers
 Thursday: to Accra via Egiyrfa
 Thursday-Friday: Accra (Penta Hotel)
 Meeting if possible with Ministry of Education, Dutch
