These technologies help the consumer evaluate the quality or usefulness of the content. These technologies provide the means through which the media is consumed. These technologies aid in the creation of new media. 2 1. With this innovation, you can select your “reviewers” from a group of your trusted taste-makers. Many sites offering video clips include evaluation tools like this to increase traffic and site loyalty. 6 3. EXPERIENCE: CONSUMERS WANT CONTROL Key trends in Experience technology • Time shifting is easy with Video On Demand (VoD) and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) • Place shifting is increasingly common for the tech-savvy 7 3. EXPERIENCE: CONTENT ON THE GO Slingbox Personal Broadcaster connects your television at home to your computer at work (or anywhere in between) Have a craving to watch soap operas in the office? You may not be able to set up a TV in your cube, but you can watch your home TV over the Internet. Sling Media's $250 Slingbox Personal Broadcaster connects via your home network, and allows you to change channels and watch TV as if you were sitting in front of your TV at home. 9 4.
