Increased Responsibilities Lions Class are expected to set a good example and reflect the ethos of the school. They have a range of responsibilities which are shared eg •Playleaders (Y5), •Buddies (Y6), •Dining room helpers (Y6) •Coming soon – Sportsleaders (Y6) •Classroom jobs – register, tidying up etc This helps them learn to become responsible citizens. Stage not age • Spelling / Phonics & Maths – to meet pupils at point of need to accelerate learning Groups fluid. Spellings Daily session Weekly - list to learn/word exercise to complete Star Spell – during Early Morning and Guided Reading. Personalised - within English Book Reading • In School Mainly in groups. Individual – some daily. • At Home Sharing books daily. Encourage a variety of texts. Target Writing 20 minutes – 4 times a week (2 x skills building and 2 x write). New Whole School Target each term (Term 1 – Punctuation) Layered Targets Complementary Reading Targets PE Twice daily Activate (totalling 75 mins per week) Tuesday - with Wayne N.b. W/c 30th September – PE on Thursday not Tuesday Trips Standen House – 23rd October Trip to Preston Manor – 3rd December Help with transport for trips / sports activities etc. Office needs various docs including driving licence / insurance etc. Homework Reading – daily Home Learning – one activity a term. Term 1 due in 7th October. Given out Wednesday English and Maths – to be in on following Monday Spellings – tested on a Thursday Residential • Yr 6 - Blacklands Farm - June • Yr 5 – PGL (Windmill Hill) - September 2014 • We will have focussed meetings nearer the time
