The leader’s personal life
• Martin Luther King was
born in Atlanta, Georgia
on January 15th ,1929.
. He entered Morehouse
College and became a
minister.
King married with Coretta Scott on June 18th, 1953
King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist
church in Montgomery, in 1954.

He was killed on april,4th 1968
by James Earl Ray.

• Martin Luther King was a
true man of peace.
• King sang with his church
choir at the 1939.
• King organize the
Mongomery bus boycot.
• Martin luther king spoke
out for justice to african
americans for an end to
racial discrimination.
• In 1957, King, Ralph
Abernathy, and other
civil rights activists
founded the Southern
Christian Leadership
Conference (SCLC).
• Black people obtain
civil rights.

On august 28th, 1963
Martin Luther King
gave his « I have a
dream speech » in
washington, DC.
He spoke about
freedom and rights for
black people.
Martin was awarded the Nobel
Peace Prize on December 10th,
1964.
Martin Luther King Day is an
official holiday in the US, which is
celebrated on the third Monday of
January.
