Open up the “Underground RR Essay for an A” document
Click on the first link and open the website. Spend the first 20
MINUTES searching the website. You need to look at each tab,
including: “On the Plantation,” “Escape”, “Reaching Safety,” “Reaching
Freedom.” The last tab, “Tell the Story” is what you will use to write your
diary. No one should be using this tab until you have spent at least 20
minutes looking at the website to get ideas.
When it is time to write your escaped slave diary, open a word
document. Click “save as” and put this in your folder. Title you
document “Slave Diary.” Please use the different links for ideas for your
diary. Be sure to answer each and every question. Tell the story as if
you were the escaped slave. Take your time—be creative! Give yourself
a slave name.
When finished answering the questions you
will:
1. Print you information.
2. Create a diary (booklet).
3. Complete Chapter 14 Key Vocabulary.
