Tonight’s Objective
Our purpose this evening is to provide parents with an overview of the
PARCC Assessment, insight into what has been happening at the
middle schools to prepare staff and students for PARCC, and to share
resources with parents.

Grade 6: Week of March 2, 2015
Grade 7: Week of March 9, 2015
Grades 8: Week of March 16, 2015
**Make-up Sessions are TBD.

Grade 8: Week of May 11, 2015

Testing schedules are being created and our plan is to administer assessments first thing in the
morning.

Format
Performance-Based Assessment
March 2 – March 27, 2015
End-of-Year Assessment
April 27 – May 22, 2015
English Language Arts: 3 writing tasks
based upon reading (Literary Analysis,
Narrative Task, Research Simulation Task),
Evidence Based Selected Response, and
Technology Enhanced Constructed Response
(based on reading comprehension)
English Language Arts: Evidence Based
Selected Response and Technology
Enhanced Constructed Response (based on
reading comprehension). Format will be 13
paired question sets in response to 2
reading passages (subject to change).
Math: Will focus on applying skills, concepts,
and understandings to solve multi-step
problems requiring abstract reasoning,
precision, perseverance, and strategic use of
tools.
Math: Students will be asked to further
demonstrate conceptual understanding of
the Major Content and Additional Supporting
Content of the grade/course.

language, complex text, good literature)
