The energy system is changing
Europe is in the middle of a historic transition of the energy system
- Denmark has a leading position
•
By 2020, wind power must constitute 50% of the electricity consumption;
in 2013 it constituted 32%.
•
By 2050, Denmark must be 100% fossil-free.

Important messages
• Improved energy efficiency
• Increased electrification in the transport and
heating sectors
• Flexible consumption, international marked
integration, and interconnections reduce the need
for thermal peak production
• The gas system and RE gasses is an important
mean to ensure security of supply and integration
of biomass and fluctuating renewables
• High temperature heat from conversion processes
should be integrated to get a high system efficiency
• Robust marked solutions and an efficient
information infrastructure is a precondition

Final statements
• Integration of energy systems is a key solution in optimizing
the energy system
• RD&D in energy efficient technologies connecting the
different energy networks are needed
• Cooperation among Member States are needed to develop
common solutions
• The Integrated Road map and funding through Horizon2020
and ERA-NETs are necessary mediators
