ENDANGERED SPECIES
PROJECT
Students will research endangered North
American animals and use information from
their research to create varied writing
pieces. This research ties into science and
will also tie into art which happens 3rd
quarter.
More About Writing!
• Writing is personal and different for each child.
• All pieces will be graded for both content and
mechanics.
• Students will participate in peer conferencing.
• Students will have opportunities to polish writing
before a final copy is graded.

exposed to and analyze a wide variety of books.
NYS Modules- Students are challenged to
analyze reading on an intense level.
Comprehension is built through analysis of words
and parts of the text, then synthesized with the
whole passage.
