The Answer •TO SUPPORT THE MEMBERS 2011 FDLC – Flotilla Duties and Responsibilities How does a FC support the members? • Provides training opportunities • Provides them with programs they are interested in • Provides the infrastructure so the Flotilla can function 2011 FDLC – Flotilla Duties and Responsibilities How does an FC support the members (continued)? • Removes barriers to the members doing their jobs • Helps them understand Auxiliary Policies • Provides for fellowship • Helps resolve conflicts 2011 FDLC – Flotilla Duties and Responsibilities The Duties of all Elected Leaders… Incumbent elected Auxiliarists are responsible for: • Conduct of unit meetings (this may also be appropriately handled by the Vice/Chief of Staff). • Supervision and successful execution of unit activities to accomplish Auxiliary missions and goals. • Support and compliance with Auxiliary and Coast Guard policies. • Prompt submission of required reports and correspondence. • Membership recruiting and retention. • Leadership, management, supervision, and operation of their unit, and unit member training, qualification, assignment to duty, recognition, and corrective action. • Liaison with Coast Guard units in their area of responsibility in coordination with the designated AUCs. 2011 FDLC – Flotilla Duties and Responsibilities The Chain of Leadership & Management o You work for your Flotilla Members. o You report to your Division Commander. Your staff (FSOs) reports to the VFC. Follow the chain of leadership. Use the ASC at Sectors Invite active duty and Reserve to fellowship events. Look for ways to assist, not hinder.
